About Us
At Curate Performing Arts Academy (CPAA), we are dedicated to making performing arts education accessible, engaging, and enriching for students in 3rd–8th grade. Our after-school program is hosted directly at your child’s school, eliminating the need for extra transportation—we come to you!
CPAA provides professional instruction in theatre, acting, dance, and music, helping students build confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills. Our structured program is designed to guide students through a comprehensive performing arts experience over the course of the school year.
How Our Program Works
Our program is divided into four 9-week quarters, with classes held three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each quarter builds upon the last, ensuring steady growth and preparation for exciting performances:
1st Quarter: Students begin by exploring the fundamentals and basics of their respective courses. They engage in a variety of activities that introduce them to the core concepts of theatre, acting, dance, and music, establishing a solid foundation for their performing arts journey.
2nd Quarter: Each course shifts focus to putting together their own showcase. Students collaborate with their peers and instructors to develop unique performances that highlight their skills and creativity, culminating in an exciting showcase for family and friends.
3rd Quarter: All courses come together to start learning a collaborative show or performance. This quarter emphasizes teamwork and unity, as students integrate their talents from different disciplines into a cohesive production.
4th Quarter: Students dedicate this quarter to refining details, building props, and smoothing out technical elements in preparation for the show. Extended rehearsals may include Saturdays or an additional day each week to ensure everything is in place, culminating in a polished final performance.
At the end of the year, students will showcase their hard work through 2-3 performances:
One performance for parents, allowing families to see their children’s progress.
One performance for the school, fostering community among peers.
One performance for a fundraiser, attended by school staff, administration, and local nonprofits, highlighting student talents while supporting school initiatives.
At CPAA, we believe in nurturing young talent, fostering self-expression, and keeping the performing arts alive in early education. Whether your child is stepping onto the stage for the first time or looking to enhance their skills, our program offers a supportive, fun, and inspiring environment for them to learn, grow, and shine!
